Word offers you several approaches for actually placing the table into the document. You can insert the table into the document or draw the table using the Draw Table command.
Let's take a look at inserting a table, which allows you to quickly specify the number of rows and columns to be used. We can then look at drawing a table into a document.
To insert a table into your document, Please follow the below simple steps:

Click on the Start Button on the left of the taskbar. See the above picture.

Go to Insert then click on Table and then click on Insert Table button on the Standard toolbar. See the above picture.

When you click on the Insert Table the Insert Table dialog box appears. See the above pictures.
Step 07: Insert Table Options
Number of Rows: Use the click arrows in the Number of Rows text box to set the number of rows.
If you want to set the number of columns and rows as the default for subsequent tables, click the Remember Dimensions for New Tables check box.
AutoFit Behavior:
AutoFit to Contents option: To set the table so that it automatically adjusts the column widths to accommodate the text that you type in the column, select the AutoFit to Contents option button.

AutoFit to Window option: If you are going to save the Word document containing the table as a Web document (and use it on a Web site), select the AutoFit to Window option button.

When you have completed all your settings for the table, and then click OK.
