How to Convert Raster images into Gradient Mesh in Illustrator CS6 |
Step 01: Choose your image (PNG or JPEG)
Choose which image you want to convert into gradient mesh.
Step 02: Open your image in Adobe Illustrator
Open Adobe Illustrator
At the top of the main menu file > click Open (or use shortcut Ctrl+O) then choose the file you want to open or drag and drop the image in working area. See the above picture.
Step 03: Image Selection
Select the image using selection tool or Press the “V” on keyboard and then click the image to select the image. See the above picture.
Step 04: Converts Raster Images into Gradient Mesh
Go to object on the main menu > and then Click Create Gradient Mesh. See the above picture.
Step 05: Gradient Mesh Options
Rows: The Rows in the Create Gradient mesh dialog indicate the number of horizontal mesh lines to be created on the object.
Columns: The Columns indicate the number of vertical columns of mesh lines to be created on the object.
Appearance: Appearance indicates the direction of highlight.
1. Center Appearance: The Center option will create a highlight in the center of the object.
2. Edge Appearance: The edge option will create a highlight on the edge of the object.
3. Flat Appearance: The Flat option will apply the object’s original color evenly across the surface.
Highlight Option: Highlight stands for the percentage of white highlight to be applied to the mesh object where 100% stands for maximum white light and 0%stands for no white light.
Once set all the values and option then click OK.
Now your image is converted into gradient mesh you can re-size the image without quality loss.
